
How to Sew a Face Mask
In lieu of the previously scheduled Introduction to Sewing classes, here is an instructional video on how to sew a face mask. In the spirit of many crisis of the past, the makers of the world feel compelled to help. In the face of World War knitters (learn more) made service people socks, scarves, and sweaters with the guidance of the Red Cross. Today, we are called upon to make masks in the face of Covid-19.

PATTERN & GUIDELINES:
This tutorial uses the adult pattern with an added 1/4 seam allowance, available at the following URL, https://www.craftpassion.com/wp-conte…, with a few adjustments. This pattern was recommended by Owensboro Health here: https://www.owensborohealth.org/news-… . This site recommends the duck cotton and 1/4 elastic which is not used at the original pattern site.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
Outside: Duck Canvas Cotton
Inside: Quilting Cotton
1/4 in elastic cut into two 7″ lengths
Quilting Pins
Machine Sewing Thread
Iron & ironing board.
