Linked Data is Scent-sational!: Introduction to Linked Open Data

Can computers smell? Do you like discovering niche perfumes, linguistics, and browsing the web? In this workshop* you’ll get an introduction to “linked data” and how it is the backbone of the world wide web and its algorithms. We’ll discuss how a subjective experience like smell can evolve into a map of connections.

Join us for examples of cool linked data projects and smell a few scents from the Science Librarian’s personal perfume collection. You’ll likely leave with the name of a new fragrance for your next occasion. 50-minute workshop.
